AMC Entertainment reported record financial results for the third quarter on Wednesday, driven by the theatrical runs of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The company generated total revenue of $1.71 billion, a 31% increase over the $1.3 billion recorded in the same period of 2025.

The exhibitor swung to a net income of $109.3 million, reversing a year-earlier net loss of $298.2 million. This profit was primarily due to non-cash charges related to a refinancing completed in July 2025 to redeem 2026 debt maturities. Adjusted EBITDA reached a quarterly record of $347.5 million, up from $122.5 million in the prior year period.

Admissions revenue rose to $953.5 million from $715.1 million a year earlier. Food and beverage concession sales increased to $589.5 million from $451.8 million. U.S. attendance totaled 52 million patrons, while international markets contributed 22.7 million cinema-goers during the quarter.

CEO Adam Aron told analysts that the company has stabilized after six years of financial uncertainty. “After six long years navigating AMC through unchartered waters, we can finally say with relief that we have brought our ship into port,” Aron said. He attributed the results to a strong film slate, market share gains, and record revenue per patron.

Aron noted that the company’s loyalty programs and premium large format auditoriums, including IMAX and Dolby Cinema, contributed to the performance. AMC is continuing efforts to manage its debt load, having recently completed refinancings that pushed approximately $4 billion in debt maturities to 2031 and 2033. These deals required the company to pledge theaters and related intellectual property as collateral.

The company anticipates further box office activity during the holiday season with releases of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Avengers: Doomsday, and Dune: Part Three. Aron also confirmed that AMC will screen the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, on IMAX screens starting November 25. The film will move to Netflix on December 23, a longer theatrical window than offered to competitors Cinemark and Regal.

Aron stated that AMC will also screen the upcoming Netflix productions Narnia and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2027, both of which will have full theatrical windows. He added that the company is using AI tools in Europe to determine which movies are placed in specific auditoriums, aiming to improve labor savings and operational efficiency.

The financial results show the company achieving all-time record revenue per patron. Aron expressed confidence that the recent acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance will lead to more movies with extended theatrical releases under both studio brands.
