The Hall-Kent Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization will hold its 91st Fall Festival on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The event serves as the group’s primary annual revenue generator. Last year, the PTO distributed over $45,000 in grants to the school. All proceeds from the festival go directly toward student support.
Mandy Busby, the current PTO president, said the long history of the event reflects the value families place on school connections. “I think the 91-year tradition speaks to how much our families value those connections and the history of our school,” she said. “This is a big Homewood tradition.”
The festival runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 213 Hall Ave. Volunteers will manage a mix of classic carnival games and rides. Local food vendors will sell meals, and nearby businesses will donate items for a silent auction.
Busby described the event as a volunteer-led effort that demonstrates the community’s commitment to the school. “This is a wonderful, volunteer-led effort that truly shows the heart of Hall-Kent,” she said.
The funds raised support classroom resources, academic enhancements, and teacher opportunities. These materials are intended to enrich student experiences throughout the academic year.
