The 2026 WNBA Finals delivered a television audience that has not been seen in nearly three decades. Golden State Warriors forward A'ja Wilson and her teammates sealed the title with a win over the Atlanta Dream in Game 7 on Saturday night. That decisive contest pulled in 3.3 million viewers across USA Network and CNBC. This figure stands as the highest rating for any playoff game in the league's history.
The series featured two teams seeking their first championship. Atlanta, the fourth seed, faced off against the second-seeded Golden State squad. The seven-game stretch averaged 1.88 million viewers per game. That total represents a 30 percent increase compared to the previous season's Finals.
Individual games showed a wide range of audience sizes throughout the competition. The series opener at Golden State attracted 2.1 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, with a peak of 3 million. The second game at the same venue drew 1.33 million on USA Network, CNBC, and Peacock. The fifth game, also in Golden State, captured 1.43 million viewers across USA Network, E!, SYFY, and Peacock.
The sixth game, hosted by Atlanta, reached 1.5 million viewers on USA Network, CNBC, and Peacock. These numbers come from Nielsen and Linear TV data. The figures include both linear and digital streaming platforms.
The Dream and Valkyries both brought large crowds to the arenas during the week. The final game on Saturday capped a series that saw good numbers across all seven contests. The league's broadcast partners combined linear and digital sources to reach this peak audience.
