President Donald Trump will deliver his final campaign speech Monday afternoon at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington. The venue is currently the site of a slow and costly repair project. The president selected this location on the eve of Tuesday's midterm elections, moving away from traditional rally tours in key swing states.

The White House announced the event hours after Trump hinted at it during a visit to Iowa. He told reporters that speaking there would demonstrate how beautiful the site is. This decision departs from his recent strategy of holding more than 25 rallies in conservative areas to boost Republican turnout. Polls suggest the Iran war, high energy prices, and the cost of living could favor Democrats on Election Day.

The administration also released a new financial package for agricultural producers totaling $15 billion. More than half of this amount will go to a one-time payment plan for farmers facing soaring diesel prices. The agency plans an additional $13.8 billion in payments to offset shortfalls for growers of corn, soybeans, wheat, and rice during the 2025 crop year. These initiatives aim to counter costs driven by tariffs and the conflict in Iran.

Trump visited Salina, Kansas, and Dubuque, Iowa, on Sunday to support Republican candidates. He arrived late to his Kansas rally, where Air Force One performed a flyover before landing. Hundreds of attendees began leaving midway through his nearly 90-minute speech, which ended close to 10 p.m. local time. In Iowa, he predicted a sweep for 'America first' Republicans despite polls showing competitive races in traditionally Republican seats.

Tensions emerged within the Democratic Party in Michigan, a state critical to the Senate race. Former congressional candidate Haley Stevens endorsed Republican Mike Rogers on Sunday. Stevens said she was uninvited to a joint event with Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed. She stated in a video that El-Sayed told her she was no longer welcome in his campaign. Her top aide resigned following the announcement.

El-Sayed dismissed the endorsement when speaking to reporters on Sunday. He said he is focused on issues such as the high cost of living. He told reporters he does not think about Stevens and added that the situation does not matter. The endorsement complicates the Democratic effort to retake the Senate in a tightly contested race.

The Justice Department defended a list of more than 20,000 suspected noncitizens registered to vote in California. The agency suggested the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights should face contempt charges after releasing an analysis of the names. A federal judge had previously ordered the group to use the data only for standing arguments. The group's filing stated that more than 40% of the names did not appear in the state voter file and identified 22 likely naturalized citizens on the list.
