The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-21 on Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field, snapping a streak that had seen their offense score just 29 points in the previous two games. The result marks the first time Dallas has won at that venue since 2021, providing a much-needed boost to a team seeking to reestablish itself as a contender in the NFC East.

Running back Javonte Williams anchored the offensive effort with a career-high 155 rushing yards. He also scored his eighth rushing touchdown of the season, a total that ties him for the lead in the National Football League. The Cowboys committed zero turnovers and rushed for a combined 204 yards, marking their most effective ground game of the campaign so far.

Quarterback Dak Prescott finished the night 15-of-27 for 212 passing yards and three touchdowns. He connected with CeeDee Lamb twice and George Pickens once. Prescott, who is 39-11 against NFC East opponents in his career, has now thrown at least three touchdowns in six games against the Eagles. Only Eli Manning and Sonny Jurgensen hold higher career totals in that specific matchup.

The Cowboys' defensive performance varied but yielded key results against Eagles backup quarterback Tanner McKee. However, the unit allowed the opposing team to score a touchdown on its opening possession for the fifth time this season. That drive covered 75 yards in four plays, concluding with an eight-yard run by Saquon Barkley. The Cowboys have now allowed five opening-drive touchdowns, a league-high total shared with the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins.

The Eagles, now 2-5, fell to their fifth consecutive loss despite a strong start. Philadelphia scored 10 points and gained 124 yards in the first quarter, both season highs for the team. This marked the third time since the start of last season that the Eagles scored a touchdown on each of their first two drives, with all three instances occurring against Dallas.

Barkley played through a hamstring issue and appeared to sustain a back injury in the fourth quarter. He finished with 62 rushing yards on seven carries and a touchdown, along with two receptions for nine yards. Rookie wide receiver Makai Lemon also recorded the first touchdown of his career. The Eagles' defense allowed 416 total yards, a performance coordinator Vic Fangio described as one of his worst in over two years with the team.

Wide receiver George Pickens showed increased involvement in the offense, lining up in the slot nine times during the game. His first two catches came from that alignment, including a 21-yard wheel route score defended by safety Andrew Mukuba. In the previous six weeks, Pickens had lined up in the slot no more than seven times in any single game.

The victory improves the Cowboys to a 3-4 record, moving them into second place in the NFC East behind the New York Giants, who sit at 4-2-1. ESPN Analytics now assigns Dallas a 57 percent probability of winning the division. The Cowboys will host the Arizona Cardinals at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, while the Eagles travel to Washington to face the Commanders at 8:20 p.m. ET.
