The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 136-129 on Tuesday night, stopping Los Angeles' four-game winning streak with a decisive 18-three-point barrage.

The season began with high expectations for both clubs as they entered the matchup unbeaten. The Lakers had won their first four games, including a performance by Luka Doncic where he scored 52 points against the Utah Jazz two days prior. Portland also started the campaign with a winning record, having secured its second victory earlier in the week.

The game swung on volume from deep. Portland made 18 of its 36 attempts from three-point range, a mark that outpaced the Lakers, who converted 17 of 43. Deni Avdija led the Blazers with 23 points and nine assists, while Ja Morant contributed 23 points. Jrue Holiday added 22 points from the bench, and Damian Lillard scored 21. Robert Williams III provided a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Toumani Camara added 12 points.

Los Angeles relied heavily on Doncic, who recorded 41 points and nine assists. Austin Reaves supplied 26 points and seven assists. Sandro Mamukelashvili scored 17, while Walker Kessler and Ziaire Williams added 13 and 11 points, respectively. Despite shooting 56.2 percent from the field, the Lakers could not overcome Portland's efficiency from beyond the arc.

The first half ended with the Lakers ahead 79-68 after Mamukelashvili hit two three-pointers during a 7-0 run. Reaves and Doncic opened the second half with three-pointers to extend the lead to 97-88. Portland then answered with 14 of the final 20 points in that quarter, entering the fourth tied at 103-102.

Lillard took control in the fourth quarter with a three-pointer that gave Portland a 108-105 lead with 9:10 remaining. Camara extended the margin to 114-106 with 8:31 left. The Lakers mounted a 10-2 response, but Reaves' jumper tied the game at 116 with 5:33 remaining. The lead changed hands frequently in the final minutes, with Avdija hitting a three-pointer with 2:59 left to make it 128-124.

Williams cut the deficit to one point with 2:59 left, but Morant's floater restored a three-point cushion with 2:01 remaining. Lillard buried a three-pointer with 43.1 seconds left to make it 135-129. Missed three-point attempts by Doncic and Reaves on the next possession, followed by two free throws from Holiday, sealed the seven-point victory for Portland.

Portland finished the game shooting 59 percent from the field. Donovan Clingan contributed nine points and 10 rebounds. The win moves Portland to 3-0 on the season, while Los Angeles drops to 3-1.
